Welcome to Behind the Scenes at WordWorx!
During the last few weeks, I’ve been involved in copywriting for the following key marketing and corporate communication projects:
🟧 As a Sustainability Report Writer, I’m usually involved in formal sustainability reporting publications. However, this quarter, I started and completed a totally different sustainability project for a client. This involved creating copy for a sustainability magazine for corporate communication purposes. I interviewed many stakeholders globally to get awesome sustainability stories and write them up! I’m excited to see the final print publication soon.
🟧 I created all the text for a brand-new corporate brochure for an existing client. I adapted their existing marketing material and churned it into a brand-new format. The purpose? The brochure will mostly be used at trade fairs across Europe for their salespeople to hand out.
🟧 I created two marketing campaigns to promote two separate products for a client. This involved creating email campaign copy, landing page copy, brainstorming ideas for webinars, etc.
🟧 I created and planned a large year-long marketing campaign for an existing client in the EMENA region in line with their global marketing communication strategy and campaign.
🟧 I helped a new client revise its corporate values, making them punchier and more to the point (and weeding out ‘Dunglish’ phrases and sentences!).
🟧 I wrote various long-form stories (feature pieces/blog posts) on newsworthy topics for an existing client. This involved interviewing quite several stakeholders, transcribing stories, and writing them up.
🟧 I updated the website copy and landing page texts for a client (based on new material and information they furnished me with) and better adapted the copy to their target audience.
🟧 I started working with a few individual clients wishing to launch a new business website and wanting impactful, authentic storytelling. I usually only work with corporates, but as an entrepreneur and business owner, I find it inspiring to work with like-minded people and help them put themselves out there in words.
On the personal front…
I spent the first few weeks of the year on a four-week-long holiday in South Africa, my home country. I didn’t bring my laptop (this was a bit scary!). I had a limited internet connection and poor WIFI. I didn’t bring a lot of reading material and the one book I bought while on holiday made me think of work, so I put it in my suitcase. I was desperate for a break…During these four weeks, I freed my mind, did a lot of walking outside in the sunshine with my family and had lots of lunches with friends. It was the best thing to re-energise and hit the ground running upon return to The Hague.
After our holiday, we moved house, so it was a hectic time for me and our family. However, I finally have the home office of my dreams (watch this space for photos in the upcoming weeks!). Oh, and I took up a gardening course online because I have no idea how to tend to the outdoor plants in our garden, and this will be a great new hobby that will help me unwind!
