I’m pleased to share the completion of a recent project where I served as a consultant/impact report writer for a private education group in the EU.
This impact report highlights the group’s sustainability achievements while preparing them for the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
The project involved developing a new structure for the report, building on previous reporting efforts, and aligning it with their goals for transparency and regulatory compliance. The result is an impactful document that reflects the group’s vision for a more sustainable future.
Below is a short clip of the finished project — 72 pages in total.
My role as an Impact Report Writer
As an impact report writer, I specialise in creating reports that tell compelling stories, engage stakeholders, and meet regulatory standards like the CSRD.
As the project lead for this report specifically, I took on several responsibilities to ensure the report’s success. These included:
- Project Management — I managed the full writing process, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring deadlines were met, and ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
- Data Integration — Using various materials, including survey results, interviews, and quantitative and qualitative data, I crafted a clear and engaging narrative that told the story of their impact.
- Report Structuring — I worked with the client to design a new structure that built on their previous report and aligned with the CSRD, creating a forward-looking framework for their sustainability reporting.
- Copywriting and Editing — Every aspect of the report was carefully written and edited to reflect the organisation’s voice, ensuring the language was professional, accessible, and engaging for stakeholders.
- Formatting and Finalisation — Beyond the writing, I polished and formatted the report, ensuring it was visually appealing and ready for the designer to make something special of it.

Why an Impact Report Writer is Crucial
Impact reports have evolved far beyond being mere compliance checkboxes. As sustainability takes centre stage for organisations across the EU, a thoughtfully crafted impact report has become vital for building trust and showcasing tangible progress.
The companies I work with speak of the huge benefits in terms of human resources (a report can demonstrate a company’s sustainability work to potential new hires) as well as branding and sales benefits (where reports are used to further branding activities, strengthening the brand, but also for sales teams when engaging customers. Moreover, an impact report serves as a crucial document for investors, partners, and other stakeholders with a vested interest in the company.
Positive Client Feedback
“We have hired Elizabeth Joss, owner of WordWorx, to write our annual ESG report (for a company of approximately 1.5 billion EUR in revenue), and this is the beginning of what I can imagine will be a long-lasting business relationship. Elizabeth is extremely professional, organised, and talented. All deliverables surpassed our expectations. We can only recommend working with Elizabeth!”
